CatCa$h...What is it?
Catcash is a debit card program that is available to students, faculty, staff and guests of UC Merced.
As a UC Merced student, simply deposit money (CatCash) into the Flexible Spending Account and with the swipe of your card, the exact amount of your on-campus purchase is deducted from your balance.
There is never a reason to worry about having enough cash in your pocket to:
- Buy supplies at the student bookstore
- Grab a snack or drink on the way to class
- Do your laundry in campus residence halls
- Make photocopies
That is, if you take advantage of UC Merced’s CatCash program.
And most importantly, the CatCard program is a free service to all UC Merced students, faculty and staff!
There is never an access charge, even if you make dozens of purchases a day. Your money is transferable from one academic year to the next, and if you close your account (when you graduate or withdraw), the balance of your money is refundable with a $5 dollar administration fee.
WHERE IS CATCASH ACCEPTED?
• The student bookstore:
Purchase textbooks, school supplies and sundries as well as all sorts of collegiate clothing and paraphernalia to show your pack pride! Watch out for specials that the bookstore offers if you use your CatCard.
• University Dining Commons and Lantern Cafe:
If you are not on a meal plan but still want to enjoy the convenience of eating on campus, you can use CatCash at all university dining locations.
• Residence hall laundry:
No need to scrounge for quarters on laundry day when you are on the go. Just swipe your card in the reader and you are ready to go.
